The students have been working through our Data Analysis unit over the last couple of weeks. They then came up with a question, collected data from their classmates and created a bar graph and a pictograph relating to their questions. Take a look at their final posters.
The students wrote about their goals for 2017. They had fun sharing them with their classmates. Now they are hanging up in the classroom to remind us of what it is we are working on and why it's important.
This week we had the pleasure of having Young Actors come into our classroom. The students loved learning different acting techniques, using masks and doing improvisation. These pictures are from the day when they worked with the masks.
In class we have been talking about what good writing looks like. The students got into groups and discussed all of the things that are important in writing. They then created their own rubrics in their groups and presented them to the class. We now have a better understanding of what a 1, 2, 3 and 4 look like.
Last week the students used Lego and K'Nex to build simple machines. They did a great job creating their machines with their partners.
This week we got back into the swing of things. It is nice to be back in the classsroom to pick up where we left off before the winter break. The students searched the school for simple machines and recorded their information. They also used acrylic paints in Art and made really nice winter trees by tearing strips of paper. They also made flag pole pulleys. Check out the pictures to see the winter trees and the flag poles on the desks.
