The week we have been learning about our first unit in Science, 'Light and Shadows.' These young scientists had the opportunity to go outside with some kits made up of different materials to research this topic. They had fun in the sun while they were exploring and making discoveries about light and shadows. Here are a few pictures from their time outside. Be sure to ask your child about what they learned?
Today we participated in the Terry Fox run. The whole school was involved and it was a great morning to run. Le Roi Daniels collected donations for the Marathon Of Hope and the school managed to surpass our goal or $1000.00 as we collected over $1500.00. Each class chose a virtue that represents Terry Fox and created a banner to begin the run with. We decided to choose "Determination."
Have a look at our Paper People. The students have been busy creating themselves out of paper. Every single thing on their body is made out of paper, including the eyes, nose, mouth, eyebrows, hands and other small details. They then wrote a Biopoem about themselves. Their poems included a lot of things, including their family, things they love, things they give and fear, as well as their feelings. They all did a really great job with both their person and poem.
Today, students created emojis to express their feelings and their personality. They used paper plates and construction paper to make their emojis. Some used already existing emojis, while some created their own! They had a blast thinking of hashtags to describe their emoji's status!
